Welcome to the DPP Digest! In this bi-weekly address, we fill you in on the latest updates from the world of Digital Product Passports.
So, what's been happening in the Digital Product Passport space recently?
1. All eight DPP technical standards have now been published…
A lot of work has been done to reach an agreement (via CEN/CLC/JTC 24 - Digital Product Passport - Framework and System) on which standards all DPPs should adhere to as a baseline across industries, and eight of those harmonised standards have now been published by CENELEC.
However, while six of these standards have already been cited in the EU Official Journal under Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2026/1736 (published on 15 July 2026), two of them are still pending citation in the EU Official Journal.

2. A new official updated DPP timeline…
The EU Commission has published a new central DPP timeline, giving further clarity to organisations looking to comply with the ESPR’s DPP mandate. Key dates/timeframes include:
- Q4 2026 - Iron & Steel Requirements
- 18 Feb 2027 – Mandatory Battery Passport deadline
- Q2 2027 – Construction Product Requirements
- Q3 & Q4 2027 – Textiles, Aluminium, Tyres
- 2028 – Furniture
- 2029 – Mattresses and recycled content requirements
Bear in mind that these dates remain indicative, and the ESPR industry delegated acts include a transition period of 18 months from the date they come into force.
